Germany and summer weather

After our very early start to Milan we made the flight and travelled on to Berlin and 32 degree days.

Monica made a lovely breakfast of German meats, cheeses and a strawberry flan, after which we ventured into the heart of the city to explore...

The back yard with Monica's flowers. Ali, Dariush and Zoran in the garden with the children enjoying the morning.

Monica creating a strawberry flan.

Under the brandenburg gates.

The jewish memorial which was a great piece of architecture with it's columns and undulating ground levels.

Jasper thought it was great!

Dariush was a lovely 'big brother' to Jasper and J was rapt to be sharing his room. Every morning Jasper would wake and study the fish Dariush keeps in his tropical tank. And he got Dariush to play any chance he could...

At the Sony centre Berlin.

As we have had five years of water restrictions in Sydney, jasper and Sequoia have never seen a sprinkler, so when monika put it on they were quite worried - but that soon changed...

Ali with the children...

On our second day, Moni took us to SansSoucci, the palae of King Frederick 2nd.

The palace was lovely and Jasper was intrigued by a huge hall created out of stones, gems and shells, a giant grotto. he also climbed a working old windmill which was great, with the mill stones and cogs.

The Chinese house in the gardens.

A small folly, which Zoran and Jasper danced upon! it was a wonderful visit, and great to have such hot summer scorchers after the cold ones in Denmark. And also love to see more family.
