October

Sequoia is finally sleeping, the third week of October and she is no longer sniffly with a cold, and she slept more than a few hours at a time, each nigh she slept a little longer and now she sleeps from 6pm to 5am with a waking at 9pm and 3am!! It is so good, it has been two weeks now and all that is left is for me to remember how to go to sleep! I have been so used to waking up now I have a bit of insomnia - silly hey! She is such a happy baby now that she sleeps at night. She babbles even more, she tries to crawl (which has worsenned her reflux but increases her mobility and her pleasure), she sorts through her toys and lets me put her down for more than five minutes during the day. She also just got her first tooth on Oct 26! The bottom, front right one, which was very exciting. And she plays peek-a-boo by lifting a sheet over her face then suddenly bringing down and laughing! Very cute!

We are back digging the garden, The lower courtyard has now been cleared of 30 cubic metres of soil!! By Zoran and his dad!!! And we all built steps and it is waiting to be planted out with flowers and hedges. We'll see what survives the kangaroos!!!!! Here are some picks of the space before planting...

Jasper as always helped with every aspect...

More steps.

Here is the new brick wall which will hold up the bedroom. This weekend I spent sewing Jasper a spider costume for Halloween which I will post next week.

Hopefully I will get a chance to write more regularly now that we are all well!
Love to all...

September

We all became sick again. Sequoia had Bronchiolitis again and was quite unwell, then I got the pnumonia, and Zoran got the flu and so did jasper, so it has been a hard month, although we did get into the garden on a sunny day. The weather shifted from really warm to very cold and back and forth so we took a while to shake off our bouts of flu and colds. Sequoia still wakes hourly through the night so I am quite a wreck, I cant believe she wakes up to start the day at 5am after so little sleep! Jasper still loves preschool. Sequoia is sitting beautifully and has learnt to bang to objects together and is very pleased about her new skill, she is eating solids now, so our kitchen is a hub of pureed food.

Here is Jasper having a story which Sequoia chills out and watches her favorite thing in the world - her brother - before she tries to lunge and grab a satisfying handful of hair!
August

We all got sick, again, the flu and colds, Sequoia got bronchiolitis which was scary, but she got over it.
Sequoia still doesn't sleep at night but she is growing, not fast, but bit by bit. She sits and is starting to burble and chat which is really sweet.

We had our first holiday in years, we met friends at their lodge for three days in the mountains in Victoria, at Falls Creek. Jasper was so excited to finally see snow. We played and played, Zoran and I didn't ski or board this trip but instead made snowmen and had snow picnics. The kids survived the 7 hour car journey well, they slept through most of it!

sequoia and I rugged up for the cool weather, and the glare of the sun. The snow had melted on the lower part of the hill but up here there was enough for jasper to get very excited about.

Jasper toboggined down the hill getting braver and faster and having a hoot of a time. He had loads of energy but Zoran or I had to push him from behind as he walked up the hill or he just slid back down. So we discovered just how unfit we are!!

"I wonder what it feels like to lie here, hmmm, look up at that sky, it goes on forever..."

As a special treat Jasper learnt to fly!! Well in a sense, Zoran here is on a trampoline and Jasper is strapped in bouncing waaayyyy up high.
